Ben Klibreck

Three times I attempted to climb this Munro; the first two times were unsuccessful for different reasons. Eventually I did it on 2 September 2009. I had to tackle an extremely wet approach to the base of the hill, then climb its very steep slope up to the ridge. From there I climbed the pyramid of the summit and was dying of cold at the top. Sheltered a bit from the wind behind the rocks I had my lunch. Afterwards I quickly went down to the ridge, a bit calmer and warmer place, and followed it to the other, south end. On my way back I traversed the steep slope, this time dying of scorching heat. Eventually I got back to my car, park by the A836.
